I learned that copyright can be very restricting especially if you have created something that you want to build or expand on by allowing others to do so. I also learned that when you create something of your own you automatically own an all rights reserved copyright which protects your creation from peoples using it without consent. I think these are two aspects that would be important to teach students but also the fact that there is creative commons which lets you choose what you want to share and is not as restrictive as copyright and it is free so a great idea you have can be expanded. This also saves the hassle of someone trying to contact the creator to ask permission if they can use or expand on the idea.
